Accurate timekeeping is a fundamental requirement for all work performed for the United States Postal Service (Postal Service). To provide better accuracy and transparency within rural timekeeping, effectively immediately, any regular rural carrier providing assistance on a route other than their own, must record exact start and end times on the PS Form 4240 – Rural Carrier Trip Report in addition to entering the accurate route on their Mobile Delivery Devices (MDD).
