IT’S NATIONAL STEWARD RECOGNITION WEEK! I
The NRLCA National Board has designated October 18-24, 2026, as National Steward Recognition Week!
Our stewards are rural carriers just like you. They carry the mail, navigate the same challenges, and feel the same fatigue and frustrations. Yet they also step up every day to stand up for their fellow carriers and protect our workplace rights.
This week let’s make sure they know their dedication matters.
When you’re frustrated with something management has done—or hasn’t done — remember that your steward is there to help. Often, they’re advocating for you while also carrying a full day’s mail on their own route.
You can help lighten their load by:
- Knowing your rights and responsibilities.
- Attending union meetings.
- Learning about our contract.
- And most importantly, saying THANK YOU!
A steward’s time spent researching the contract, handbooks, and references to resolve issues in your office is time spent fighting for you.
To every NRLCA steward at all levels: THANK YOU! Your dedication, courage and commitment make our Association stronger and help protect rural carriers nationwide.
