Maineville, OH, Rural Carrier Kimberly Mitchell was delivering mail recently at a condominium when she heard a faint cry for help coming from an elderly customer’s unit.
She called out to the woman, who told her that a neighbor had a key.
Mitchell located the neighbor and they both checked on the woman, who had fallen the day before. The postal employee helped her get up and left her in the neighbor’s care. She also checked on her after work.
The woman has since moved into an assisted living facility.
“Kim is definitely an asset to this community as well as our Post Office,” said Maineville Postmaster Catie Heidkamp. “We are proud of her.”
