April Page, a rural carrier associate in Dandridge, TN, was called in on her day off to work for a neighboring town’s Post Office.
As she drove around looking for a cluster box unit at an apartment building on the unfamiliar route, a woman ran outside and screamed that her husband was dying.
The Postal Service employee immediately called 911.
Page could see that the man appeared to be having a seizure. She followed the 911 dispatcher’s instructions and was able to provide aid until emergency responders arrived.
The customer subsequently received the medical care he needed.
