Have you been affected by recent hurricanes?

The Postal Employees’ Relief Fund and the USPS Employee Assistance Program are available to aid workers affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.

Helene recently caused destruction in parts of Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee, while Milton devastated the west coast and central part of Florida.

The relief fund, also known as PERF, isn’t an emergency services organization like the American Red Cross or insurance companies that are paid to replace property.

Instead, the fund provides small relief grants to help qualifying individuals whose homes are completely destroyed or left uninhabitable as a result of a natural disaster or house fire.

PERF is a charitable organization — fully funded by donations — and operated by the postal unions and management organizations.

The Employee Assistance Program, also known as EAP, helps employees and family members cope with a variety of situations, including life-altering disasters, changes at work and more routine matters.

The PERF and EAP websites have more information.
