Co-workers and friends of a Greenfield Post Office employee are remembering her after she was killed Sunday afternoon while delivering packages.A spokesperson with the U.S. Postal Service confirms that Melinda Thompson of Spiceland was killed in an accident involving a postal delivery vehicle.Mary Dando of the Postal Service said, “Our hearts and prayers go out to the employee’s family.”Dando went on to say the accident is being investigated by the U.S. Postal Service and the Postal Inspection Service.The vehicle accident happened around noon on Shelby County Road 900 North when it appears the vehicle went off the road, Thompson over corrected and then it flipped over.Overwhelming sadness could be felt at her workplace, Monday, were co-worker and friend Debra Shively said she was shocked when she heard about her death.“You’re used to seeing her here and she’s a hard worker and she was just fun to be around and to work with and everything, so it’s just going to be hard,” said Shively.
